Sobre la obra
Estrella de Luz by Pablo Atchugarry is an ethereal, blue-coated bronze sculpture that transforms the Leesfield Family Garden into a space of reflection and serenity. Atchugarry’s ultimate aim is universal: to share a vision that transcends the individual. True to this vision, Estrella de Luz invites visitors to connect with the inner light within themselves and with the surrounding natural and urban environment, turning a city pathway into a contemplative public experience.

Pablo Atchugarry
b. 1954
One of the most important living South American artists, Pablo Atchugarry is known for his mastery of marble. In 1979, the artist carved La Lumière (Light) from a single block of Carrara marble, a revelation as luminous as its name. Drawing inspiration from Greek, Italian, and Gothic traditions, that first marble work marked the beginning of a lifelong devotion to a material he would come to master. He works in white Carrara, black Belgian, and pink Portuguese marble, stretching stone into soaring verticals that feel almost weightless. Recently, Atchugarry has extended his exploration into bronze, resulting in a new series of sculptures that echo his signature fluidity. Here, an ancient wax-casting process merges with modern industrial finishes creating glossy surfaces that intensify the play of light and shadow, imbuing his voluminous sculptures with the characteristic vertical rhythms of his sculpture.
“Star of Light” is the light we seek within ourselves and see reflected in a starry sky that invites us to dream … Pablo Atchugarry
