Stormwater Ponds
The Stormwater Ponds are an interconnected network of shallow planted depressions (also known as bioretention ponds) located along the Phase 3 corridor between Donatello Street and Granada Boulevard in Coral Gables. These features are designed to guide, absorb and allow stormwater from the elevated Metrorail infrastructure and adjacent urban surfaces to percolate back into the aquifer, while being heavily planted with native vegetation so that the spaces invite both ecological function and passive enjoyment of the outdoors.
