Stormwater Ponds
Located in Coral Gables adjacent to Ponce de Leon Blvd between Donatello Street and Granada Blvd, the Stormwater Ponds are an interconnected network of shallow planted depressions (also known as bioretention ponds). These features are designed to guide, absorb and allow stormwater from the elevated Metrorail infrastructure and adjacent urban surfaces to percolate back into the aquifer. The Stormwater Ponds are heavily planted with native vegetation so that the spaces invite both ecological function and passive enjoyment of the outdoors.
