At Friends of The Underline, we believe in the power of green space, community, and culture to transform our city—and this year, we have the numbers, stories, and milestones to prove it.
We’re proud to share our 2024 Impact Report, a reflection of what we’ve accomplished together in just one year. From expanding our footprint and enriching our programs to advancing environmental sustainability and deepening community partnerships, The Underline continues to grow as Miami’s premier linear park and cultural destination.
2024 Highlights Include:
🌿 Park Growth: With the opening of the Hammock Trail, The Underline now spans 2.64 miles, connecting more neighborhoods and people to nature, art, and movement.
🧘♀️ Health & Wellness: Over 250 free public wellness classes offered, including Saturday Yoga, Walk4Life, and our new Thursday evening yoga in Vizcaya Station Plaza.
🎨 Arts & Culture: Iconic art installations, including works by Jeppe Hein and Bony Ramirez, and vibrant public events like the first annual Sneaker Ball, which brought together over 400 supporters in celebration of culture, community, and creativity.
🦋 Sustainability Initiatives: We introduced climate-resilient microforests, expanded our butterfly gardens, and empowered youth through our Green Leaders and Climate Champs programs.
📣 Community Engagement: Over 15,000 event participants and program attendees helped activate the park year-round, from Family Days to our “Day in the Dirt” volunteer series.
💚 Support & Impact: Thanks to generous donors, sponsors, and public-private partnerships, we’ve raised critical funds to support free programs, ongoing operations, and park maintenance.
