The Underline opens Chewy Bark Park in Coral Gables

by The Underline
Introduction

What an incredible weekend at The Underline! We’re still smiling after celebrating the grand opening of Chewy Bark Park, and we want to thank everyone who came out to make it such a memorable community moment.

More than 500 people joined us to welcome this new space, alongside many local leaders showing their support, including Mayor Vince Lago and Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson of the City of Coral Gables. From dogs racing across the turf to families connecting with neighbors, the energy was exactly what The Underline is all about.

Our partners at Chewy went above and beyond, surprising pet parents with generous gift bags filled with toys, treats, and goodies for both pets and their humans. It was a joyful reminder of what’s possible when public spaces and great partners come together for the community.

A special thank you to Kevin Arrieta and the full creative team at Akila Projects, whose creativity helped bring this event to life. From logistics to production, his work was instrumental in making the opening seamless and celebratory. Along with NV2A/Central, Savino Miller, and Miami-Dade County.

We encourage you to share your favorite moments and tag @theunderline, @chewy, @cityofcoralgables, and @akila.miami so we can keep the celebration going.

This is just the beginning. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Chewy and are already planning more fun, community-focused events at Chewy Bark Park in 2026.
