Introduction
If you couldn't attend The Underline's Phase 2 First Virtual Public Input Meeting on 12/9, you can still give us your feedback. Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works, in partnership with Friends of The Underline, hosted a virtual public meeting on Wednesday December 9th at 6:30 PM via Zoom for community input on Phase II of The Underline from Coral Way to SW 19th Avenue. A little over 2 miles long, this phase extends from the southern end of Brickell Backyard to south of the Vizcaya Metrorail station.

Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works, in partnership with Friends of The Underline, hosted a virtual public meeting on Wednesday December 9th at 6:30 PM via Zoom for community input on Phase II of The Underline from Coral Way to SW 19th Avenue. A little over 2 miles long, this phase extends from the southern end of Brickell Backyard to south of the Vizcaya Metrorail station. Over 300 people signed up to provide their input on the types of activation they would like to see along The Underline's Phase II at the Hammock Trail (adjacent to Simpson Park) and passive park spaces at Vizcaya Metrorail Station and SW 17th Avenue.

Last week, we joined other park advocates and civic innovators at the American Planning Association’s Florida Conference panel: Get Up & Get Moving: Advocating for Parks & Open Space Anywhere! To get the audience excited about leading their own public space project we shared some lessons learned from our park initiatives including The Underline, Ludlam Trail, Miami Foundation’s Public Space Challenge and a neighborhood playground in Schenley Park.
