Job Summary

The Underline is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Supervisor of the Conservancy Corp., a new program specifically designed to help formerly unhoused individuals to re-begin their careers in the maintenance and upkeep of The Underline’s growing linear park. The successful candidate will oversee a team of unhoused individuals performing maintenance tasks in our outdoor linear park. Piloting a new program this year, this role is crucial in ensuring program success while tending to the safety, cleanliness and environment for all visitors while providing meaningful employment opportunities for unhoused community members.

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervision and Training:

o Serve as the primary contact for the selection and oversight of the individuals selected to maintain The Underline’s multimodal trail, park and public art.

o Supervise, train, and support a team of unhoused individuals in performing maintenance tasks.

o Develop and implement training programs to enhance skills and ensure safety.

o Foster a positive and inclusive work environment

o Coordinate with the existing maintenance and security contractors.

o Ensure daily duties are being performed in a safe and productive manner

o Evaluate effective of employees and program and write quarterly performance evaluations.

Maintenance Oversight:

o Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily maintenance activities, including landscaping, cleaning, and minor repairs.

o Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance and safety issues.

o Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

· Collaborate with maintenance, horticulture, and facilities teams to coordinate tasks, share resources, and ensure seamless operations across all park areas.

Administrative Duties:

o Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and employee performance.

o Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.

o Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.

Community Engagement:

o Act as a liaison between the maintenance team and park visitors, addressing any concerns or feedback.

o Collaborate with local organizations to support the well-being and development of unhoused team members.

o Ensure community engagement metrics are tracked and reported regularly

o Help with the development of community impact reports and communication with potential program funders.

Qualifications

· Proven experience in park maintenance or a related field.

· Previous supervisory experience, particularly with diverse or vulnerable populations, is highly desirable.

· A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with additional certifications in facilities management or landscaping considered a plus.

· Strong organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Summary

The Underline is seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities Operations Associate to support daily property management and maintenance of our outdoor public space. This role involves conducting regular site inspections, performing general repairs, landscaping, assisting with event setup and breakdown, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English and Spanish), experienced in facilities or groundskeeping, and brings a professional, solutions-oriented mindset to a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. A strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with vendors and staff are essential to maintaining the high standards of appearance and service that define The Underline.

Essential Functions

• Maintain compliance with company, State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
• Comply with all safety procedures.
• Be bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Comply with all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• General maintenance and grounds keep keeping duties.
• Special Tasks: painting, locksmith work, company services requests, and landscaping
• Perform minor repairs.
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested
• Set up and break down Events
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
• Report danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all vendors and contractors.
• Track and store department inventory
• Keep the community satisfied with the customer service and appearance of the space.
• Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards

• Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 5 years field experience with trade school training OR 6 years total field experience
• Preferred experience in commercial parks, stadiums, or hotels

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
• General computer skills with knowledge in email, the Internet, Microsoft Word/Excel are a plus.
• Ability to comply with both The Underline and county policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extensively outside in the elements.

• Lifting a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Moving tables, benches, etc.
• Must be willing to spend 8 to 12 hours outside daily.
• Using ladders, picking up trash, and whatever is needed throughout the space.
• Must be willing to perform ground maintenance duties.

Hours

• Flexibility to work shifts required.
• Weekends and holidays, as needed.
• May be required to work overtime or after hours to meet deadlines or address emergencies.

The Underline is a bold initiative to reclaim 10 miles of land beneath the Miami Metrorail and transform it into a beautiful, active green space that becomes a magnet for residents and visitors alike. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a movement for a safer, more resilient, and connected community.

The first phase of the project – Brickell Backyard – opened in early 2021 and has already attracted nearly 2 million visitors. Phase 2 opened early this year and expands The Underline’s community impact and reach to 2.6 miles. The entire 10-mile park will be opened by 2026. Friends of The Underline (FUL), a nonprofit corporation, is driving the fundraising to build and sustain what will become a place that is uniquely Miami.

• Optimize operations for the development department by streamlining and automating processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Create and implement donor relations plans for all major gifts (above $10,000) and corporate partnerships, working closely with the CRO and CEO.
• Nurture and steward existing relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and corporate partners to provide a high level of customer service to increase engagement and affinity with the organization.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure grant fulfillment and develop compelling and well-targeted funding proposals that align with the goals of the prospective funder and The Underline.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic problem-solver and ability to adapt and course-correct to new circumstances and obstacles.
• Proven success in closing significant partnerships or securing major deals.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Minimum 4 years of fundraising or sales experience inclusive of a revenue goal and metrics (A portfolio of individual and corporate contacts is a plus.)
• Proficient in using CRM software and automation tools to manage pipelines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
• A positive, can-do attitude with a desire to take the initiative and ensure excellence
• Fluency in Spanish language is preferred
• Passion for The Underline’s mission and the ability to inspire others.
